After graduation, he moved to Dallas, Texas, where he worked for a non-profit before enlisting in the United States Army and being stationed at Fort Bragg.
During his service he acquired the nickname “Hammer,” a moniker that would later become his artistic signature.
In 2020, he began studying graphic design and fine arts at the Columbus College of Art and Design, marking the beginning of his professional career as an artist, producing drawings and focusing primarily on oil painting.
the work. His central subject is the feminine form—expressed through portraiture and figure—yet beneath the surface the work meditates on longing, beauty, love, loss, and introspection.
His paintings fuse classical elegance with a vivid, pop-eroticism and vitality—sensual yet restrained, refined yet electric—imbued with a quiet tension that lingers beneath the surface.
influences. His work draws inspiration from masters both historic and contemporary, most notably: Klimt, Mucha, Bouguereau, Mateja Petkovic (“milkformycoconut”), Renee Grau, Degas, Ben Frost, Taeil Kim, and Zin Lim.
Christopher “Hammer” Alexander is an Eastern Orthodox Christian.
He currently resides in Columbus, Ohio.
